Issue: Transact Cloud POS Product Development has identified an issue with offline transaction processing on the 5.1.29.650 binary version of the Cloud POS Register software. Transact is actively working on a fix for the next release of the Cloud POS Register software.
Workaround: If you do not accept offline campus or credit transactions, you may continue to operate with the 5.1.29.650 binaries. If you do accept offline transactions, there are two workarounds available:
Workaround 1:
- Identify offline transactions on the POS with either the pending transaction count on the bottom of the register, or through the Dashboard in Cloud POS Back Office in the Offline Transactions column.
- Confirm the device is running on 5.1.27.632 or later binaries.
- Log on to the register, select “Make a Selection” to access the tool bar. Select Manager Functions, then Exit to Shell.
- Once in the POS Shell, select Maintenance, then Offline Maintenance.
- In the pop up window, select Process All to process the offline transactions.
- After this completes confirm there are no more pending transactions in the Offline Maintenance window. If there are more transactions remaining select Process All again until all transactions complete. Then select Close.
- Select Close Preferences on the Maintenance window.
- Select Run POS to restart the register software application.
Workaround 2:
- If you do not need any of the fixes or features that were delivered in the 5.1.29.650 Register software release, you can roll back to the 5.1.27.632 Register software release. If you are unsure, please make sure to read the Release Notes for the 5.1.29.650 Register Software Release. IMPORTANT: Changing the binaries will initiate a reboot of the POS Device.
- To roll back the binaries to 5.1.27.632, navigate to the Dashboard in Cloud POS Back Office, and select the devices you want to perform the binary sync to.
- In the upper right-hand side of the screen, select Sync Binaries.
- Select Yes on the confirmation message confirming the POS Devices you are sending a binary sync to.
- In the next window, change the default binaries in the drop down selection to the 5.1.27.632 version. Then select Start Sync.
- The binary sync will load and be sent to the POS Device. When the binary sync loads on the POS Device, it will initiate a reboot of the POS Device.
If you have any questions or experience any issues after the maintenance window has passed, please open a case via Transact Connect or call Transact Support at 888-381-8054, Option 3.
